SIMS will begin our first Elementary Summer courses starting summer, 2020! This format allows students to complete their full AMI Elementary Training during three summers, rather than during an academic year. This is a great option for working teachers who wish to attend the training but can’t take the time off during the year
The AMI Elementary Course offers an in-depth study of Montessori theory and practice for working with children 6 – 12 years of age. Students are trained to work in the Montessori Elementary classroom. The training includes lectures on Montessori theory, child development, and classroom management; presentation techniques for the full complement of Montessori materials; observation in Montessori classrooms; practice teaching in classrooms under the guidance of AMI Trained teachers.
Elementary students who do not have an AMI Primary (3-6) diploma are required to complete the Primary Foundation component of the course. This Primary Foundation is a 150-hour course which will provide the participant with an overview of the development of the 0 – 6 year-old child.

July 7, 2020 – July 31, 2020
June 1, 2021 – July 30, 2021
June 1, 2022 – July 29, 2022
