Receive a Full AMI 3-6 Orientation Certificate
The AMI Orientation Course gives a detailed overview of Montessori Education with concentration on the development of the 3 to 6-year old child. This 60-hour long course is a solid foundation and much needed orientation for new assistants who want to better understand Montessori in order to provide a meaningful contribution to the Primary environment.
This course also serves as a refresher for experienced assistants who can benefit from visualizing the big picture, enhance their observation skills and identify areas to better support a trained teacher. This course is also useful for parents, grandparents, school administrators and childcare professionals from other fields who would like to have a better understanding of the Montessori approach to early childhood education.
The course format offers lecture presentations, readings, discussions and various activities. In order to obtain the AMI Orientation Certificate, participants are required to complete attendance, nine hours of observation and submission of three short essays (500 words each).
Observation of children may occur in the following ways:
- Observe children in AMI led Montessori environments
- Observe children in social environments (parks, zoo, playgrounds, home, or other)
- Observe children in videos (some videos may be recommended or provided by the trainer)
Course Schedule :
November 2021:
Evenings 4p-7p – Nov 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23
Saturday 9a-3p – Nov 20
Participants will meet in-person (or via Zoom)
Tuition*: $775**
*A 10% discount will be offered to schools that register two or more teachers from their school.
**Students who complete the Orientation Certificate and then enroll in the full SIMS training in the future will receive a $700 credit towards their tuition.

Infant and Toddler (Birth-3) Orientation

This 60-hour long course is a solid foundation and much needed orientation for new assistants who want to better understand Montessori in order to provide a meaningful contribution to the Primary environment.
This course also serves as a refresher for experienced assistants who can benefit from visualizing the big picture, enhance their observation skills and identify areas to better support a trained teacher.
