If you are passionate about Montessori teaching and want to pursue your AMI Montessori Teaching Diploma but don’t currently hold a Bachelor’s degree, we have a great opportunity for you! The Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies (SIMS) is excited to be partnering with the University of Mary to offer a dual enrollment program. You can earn undergraduate credits while taking your Primary Montessori Teacher Training with SIMS through the University of Mary!
Students of SIMS have the opportunity to earn 21 undergraduate credits for the work that they will do in the teacher
training course. These credits are offered through University of Mary, which has a satellite campus in Tempe, Arizona.
These credits can be used toward an undergraduate degree either at the University of Mary or can be transferred to any other university or college accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, which includes (but is not limited to):
- Arizona State University
- University of Arizona
- Northern Arizona University
- Grand Canyon University
- All Arizona Community Colleges
Enrollment/Registration
The program is offered through a dual-enrollment arrangement. The first step in the process is to apply and enroll in the teacher training program at SIMS.
Once enrolled, students will be required to register as non-degree seeking students at the University of Mary. This can be done online at: http://www.umary.edu/admissions/apply-undergraduate.php .
Courses and Credits
Students will earn 9 credits during the first semester, and 12 credits during the second semester. Final grades will be submitted by the SIMS trainer for the work done in the course.
What is the Cost?
Students will be required to pay $90 per credit hour in addition to the tuition and fees paid to SIMS. Students will pay this on a semester basis upon enrollment in each class.
