We encourage eligible accepted applicants in our training program to consider these scholarships, organized both within and externally to SIMS.
Philosophy of Indigenous Education Scholarship
Scholarships for enrolled tribal members are available to Indigenous folks through the Indigenous Montessori Institute. Eligible participants must apply to enroll in both the Philosophy of Indigenous Education and a Montessori training track (Primary and Elementary students only). Black Montessori Education Fund (BMEF)
The Black Montessori Education Fund (BMEF) believes that education has the power to positively transform lives. Historically, within the African-American community, education was seen as a vehicle for liberation. The BMEF envisions an educational approach that places value on the racial, cultural, economic and spiritual background of all and seeks to support the wholistic development of each individual to their fullest potential. 2022 applications will be coming soon.

Margaret E. Stephenson Scholarship
Administered through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), scholarship awards range from $500–$5000. This scholarship is open to US citizens/residents who can demonstrate financial need, and have already been accepted in an AMI training course.

Early Childhood (0-3) Advancement Scholarship 22-23
One merit-based scholarship for $2000 each, designed to support those seeking to advance their current career in early childhood working with children ages 0-3 (for example, if you are working as a nanny, classroom assistant/aide, preschool teacher, or as an early childhood teacher, you should apply).

Early Childhood (3-6) Advancement Scholarship 22-23
Two merit-based scholarships for $2000 each, designed to support those seeking to advance their current career in early childhood working with children ages 3-6 (for example, if you are working as a nanny, classroom assistant/aide, or as an early childhood teacher, you should apply).
COSTA RICA PRIMARY DEADLINE: DECEMBER 9, 2022, ACADEMIC YEAR PRIMARY: MAY 12, 2023
Elementary Education Advancement Scholarship 22-22
One merit-based scholarship for $2500 each, designed to support those seeking to advance their current career in elementary education (for example, if you are working as a public school teacher, classroom assistant/aide, or as a school age tutor or coach, you should apply).

Visiting Students Scholarship 22-23
Three merit-based scholarships for $1500. This scholarship is for out-of-state or international students traveling to Arizona to complete the training at SIMS. Students coming from out-of-state incur additional expenses. This scholarship is designed to help offset some of those costs.

Montessori Professional Development Scholarship 22-23
Administered via the Arizona Community Foundation, awards range from $300–$2500. Eligible applicants should have applied and been accepted into the SIMS training course, and must demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to Arizona residents.

Montessori as a Second Career Scholarship 22-23
Two merit-based scholarships for $1500, this scholarship is for students who are making a major career change. Students who have not previously been working in education are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Arizona Community Foundation Scholarship Portal
Applicants are required to create an account and fill out the general application. From there, you will be contacted if you qualify for a scholarship and additional application materials are required. High school seniors, current college students, or graduate level students attending schools anywhere in the U.S. can apply. The general application process begins in January each year and students are advised to apply early to qualify for the most awards. Scholarships are available for two-year and four-year colleges and universities as well as technical and vocational schools.
