- What is and is not dyslexia?
- What are the neurological impacts of dyslexia?
- What are the unique strengths of the dyslexic child?
- How can we best support the dyslexic child in the primary and elementary environments?
- What are some accommodations / interventions that are naturally embedded in our Montessori practice that can serve the dyslexic child?

About the Trainer:
Alison Awes is the AMI Elementary Trainer at the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota, in St. Paul, USA. Ms. Awes holds AMI diplomas for Primary and Elementary levels, a B.A. in Art History from Smith College, a M.A. in Latin American Studies from Tulane University, and a M.Ed. in Montessori Education from Loyola College in Baltimore. She has taught in 6-9 and 9-12 classrooms, and has served on the board of Montessori schools and other organizations, including the AMIElementary Alumni Association and the founding board of Cornerstone Montessori Elementary School, a Saint Paul Charter school. Ms. Awes has lectured on AMI training courses and delivered local and national teacher workshops.
