Primary Classroom Assistant Workshop
SIMS will offer a fall Primary Classroom Assistant Training Workshop in September 2018. Those working as assistants or those who just want to learn a little bit more about Montessori are encouraged to attend. The Primary Classroom Assistant’s Course gives an overview of Montessori Education with concentration on the development of the 3 to 6-year old child. This 20-hour long course is a solid foundation for parents and family members seeking to better understand Montessori and for new assistants who want to provide a meaningful contribution to the primary environment.
Sep. 8, Sep. 15, Sep. 22, Sep. 29 (4 Saturdays)
12:30-5:30 p.m. each day
The workshop will include the following:
- An overview of Montessori theory
- The role of the assistant in a Montessori Children’s House Environment
- Maintaining a Montessori Environment and its Materials
- The Relevance of Observation
- Positive Interaction with Young Children
Registration fee: $450. Should the participant choose to pursue the Montessori Primary (3-6) Teacher Training course in the future, the registration amount will be applied towards future tuition of that course.
Assistants to Infancy Classroom Assistant Workshop
This 60 hours classroom assistants course is a dynamic introduction to Montessori philosophy and will provide tools to support and understand the development of children from birth to three years old. This course is open to classroom assistants, administrators, or anyone interested in children’s development and Montessori philosophy
This course will include lectures, reading, discussions, observations, material making sessions and practical aspects to support children’s development. This course is a foundation for those who may be interested in taking the AMI Assistants to Infancy Diploma Course (Birth to three years old).
January 14th – February 1st 2019
Monday to Friday (and Saturday the 26th because of MLK Day)
2:00 pm- 7:00 pm

Registration fee: $750. Should the participant choose to pursue the Montessori Assistants to Infancy (0-3) Teacher Training course in the future, the registration amount will be applied towards future tuition of that course.
